Novant Health’s medical group is a physician-led organization comprised of physician partners who are supported by highly-skilled professionals to provide assistance and support at every level. We are led by doctors with years of private practice experience who know and understand the details of practice management. Novant Health is also distinguished by a low turnover rate among physicians and staff.
We are leaders in bringing advanced medicine to patients. Our physicians and patients have access to the latest imaging and diagnostic technology, national drug trials and state-of-the-art surgical techniques. Affiliation with some of the nation’s leading research institutions allows us to share and participate in new discoveries and therapies.
Involvement in regional physician leadership boards and board committees is available for physicians who desire opportunities in administrative and leadership roles. The leadership and expertise of the Novant Health’s medical group executive team allows us to continue improving the health of our communities.
The Novant Health’s medical group operations team connects physicians with the capabilities and resources of an integrated healthcare network. Team members have extensive healthcare backgrounds to bring expertise, experience and modern practices to our providers. Whether working alongside office staff, providing guidance in the areas of coding and compliance or providing behind-the-scenes information technology support, our operations team is dedicated to helping physicians achieve success in today’s complex healthcare environment.
Our physicians represent a broad spectrum of primary and specialty care, and our network encompasses more than 1,400 providers. Novant Health’s medical group physician specialists have advanced training in areas such as cardiology, endocrinology, orthopaedics, ear, nose, throat and sinus and many more. In addition, each of our hospitals are staffed with hospitalists, a program that enhances medical coverage for hospitalized patients while allowing outpatient physicians to work more efficiently and maintain a better quality of life.
Our physicians and providers are consistently recognized nationally for their efforts toward patient safety, clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. Novant Health physicians are national and state leaders in earning recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for their care and treatment of diabetes, heart disease and stroke. In 2009, Safe Med, Novant Health’s outpatient medication reconciliation program, was selected as the American Pharmacist Association Foundation Pinnacle Award winner. Safe Med pharmacists work with recently discharged, medically complex patients who are over the age of 65 in order to ensure that they understand their medication regimen; the pharmacists also reconcile all patient medications in an effort to avoid an adverse drug event (ADE). As a result of Safe Med, Novant Health and its staff have reduced hospital admissions related to ADEs by 14 percent.
