Novant Health Blume Pediatric Hematology and Oncology is affiliated with Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital. Hemby offers child-centered care from admission to discharge. Large family rooms feature a parent bed, private bathroom, kitchen area and television. A colorful playroom for younger children offers age-appropriate toys and activities, while a teen lounge provides video games and entertainment for older patients.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
The PICU provides special care for critically ill children. It is staffed by board certified doctors with extensive training in critical care. Those doctors work alongside nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers and other healthcare professionals dedicated to seeing children through times when intensive care is needed.
Intensive Care Nursery
Presbyterian Hemby Children’s Hospital houses a Level III Intensive Care Nursery. Here, neonatologists who specialize in the care of premature and sick babies work with a team of neonatal professionals to provide excellent care to the smallest patients.
Children’s Emergency Department
Hemby’s Children’s Emergency Department is open seven days a week and is staffed by board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians and nurses specially trained in pediatric care. This facility provides evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents up to age 18. Physicians from Blume Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Clinic are on-call to see patients in the Children’s Emergency Department.
