Who We Are

Novant Health Blume Pediatric Hematology & Oncology has served the Charlotte area since 2000. We are named in memory of Sherri Blume, who succumbed to a brain tumor in 1967. Our mission is and always has been to provide the highest quality care with compassion and dedication. We also provide more information related to pediatric care, and other health related tips and tricks.

Access

Your child’s health doesn’t take a break, nor does your concern for them. That’s why the nurses and physicians at our clinic are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A phone call at 3:00 a.m will get you a doctor’s prompt response. We know that direct access is key to great communication and successful treatment.

State of the Art Medicine

Our doctors regularly take part in continuing education conferences and classes to learn the very latest in pediatric cancer and blood disorder treatments. We offer the same studies and therapies as larger clinics, with the individual attention and compassion on a smaller office can provide. While we are a full-service clinic, we know that collaboration is a key to treatment success. Your child and family will have local resources and support, but will have access to a network of resources from across the country, including the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Associations

Blume Pediatric Hematology & Oncology is part of the Children’s Oncology Group, the world’s largest organization devoted to childhood and adolescent cancer research. The group has more than 100 active clinical trials open at any time. Our patients benefit from this networks of resources and advanced care. Our clinic also works closely with renowned cancer hospitals including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and The University of Texas’ MD Anderson Cancer Center.

More Than Medicine

We make your child’s health and well-being our top priority. Our tight-knit, caring staff will get to know your child, offering friendly smiles and hugs at each visit. Our office is a friendly environment where you and your child will feel at home. We offer age-appropriate explanations of treatments and health issues. Our Arts For Life teachers lead young patients in music and art activities, helping your child explore feelings, or offer a welcome distraction during a treatment.

And, we are finding more reasons to celebrate everyday!
